Say no to a Labor Secretary who despises labor

ACT: Tell your representatives to reject Andy Puzder for Labor Secretary

Andy Puzder, CEO of the company that owns Hardee's and Carl's Jr., is no friend to workers. A critic of minimum wage increases, a proponent of machines taking over the jobs of workers in his restaurants, and a supporter of corporations shirking their responsibilities to their employees, Puzder's appointment would be terrible for American workers. The first step in his confirmation process has been delayed four times due to missing paperwork including financial disclosure.

Call your Senators today and ask them to vote no on Puzder. Here's a sample script:

My name is _____, I live in zip code ____. I am calling to tell Senator ____ that Andy Puzder should be rejected for the position of Secretary of Labor. His track record clearly shows that he protects executives and corporations over workers. Please tell the Senator to vote NO on Andy Puzder.

On Puzder's watch, CKE Restaurants has developed a disturbing record with racial discrimination and sexual harassment, and has a long history of fighting for the interests of executives over their employees. 60% of his restaurants have at least one violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act. His resistance to a reasonable increase in the minimum wage means that American taxpayers end up keeping his workers from economic disaster. Frankly, the guy is just sketchy when it comes to the law. As of Sunday night his hearing isn't showing up on the the HELP Committee calendar but it was scheduled for Tuesday, February 7. American workers deserve better than Andy Puzder—together we keep him out of Trump's billionaire crony cabinet.
