Last night, Senate Democrats held the floor to protest the nomination of Scott Pruitt as head of the Environmental Protection Agency. And in an even more dramatic move, EPA employees have been calling their Senators in droves, begging them not to confirm a nominee who wants to dismantle the agency, has inappropriately close ties to the oil and gas industry, and doesn't believe in climate change. Today, the Senate will vote on Pruitt's nomination.
Act: tell the Senate to stop #PollutingPruitt
Call your Senators and tell them to reject Scott Pruitt as head of the EPA. Here's a simple script you can use.
My name is [your name], and I'm a constituent of [Senator]. I'm calling today to ask [Senator] to vote no on Scott Pruitt's nomination to head the EPA. Pruitt isn't someone who can be trusted to protect the environment - time after time, he's put the interests of the oil and gas industry over the interests of our people and our planet. We need someone who will protect the earth now and in the future -- and Scott Pruitt is not that person. Please, vote no today.
